On 6 to 8 June, WKT Travel exhibited at the World Travel Catering and Onboard Services Expo (WTCE) – now in its 11th year. The WTCE is held in Hamburg, it is the leading marketplace for buyers of travel catering, in-journey retail and passenger comfort products, and offers a vibrant forum for showcasing premium brands and innovation in sustainable product and service solutions.
WKT Travel featured a number of sustainability-led products at its stand this year, including a fully recyclable paper cutlery range from Sabert, with a smooth feel and pleasant mouth sensation, delivering excellent performance with both hot and chilled food in the travel environment.
The business also launched the new generation of Fibre Lids from Huhtamaki. Innovative moulded fibre lids for hot and cold beverages, which are made from renewable raw materials and manufactured in Germany. The wood fibre material originates from sustainable European forestry, and the lids are recyclable and can be processed via paper recycling streams in the UK.
At the show, WKT Travel also highlighted multiple Exclusive Brand ranges in fully vitrified fine china and stainless steel cutlery. These included Crème Cézanne Vitrified Porcelain, a simple, refined and beautiful range of fine china with an unmistakable air of quality, perfect for use in airport lounges and on-board premium cabins. Plus, Plaza Aviation Cutlery, a Signature Style cutlery that comprises a range of contemporary designs to suit any travel dining experience.
As travel specialists, the WKT Travel team engaged with key decision makers at the show, both current and prospect customers, discussing range extensions and generating valuable sales leads. The show team was led by Head of Travel, Steve Bond and ably supported by Lucy Jones, Martin Delaney, Tracy Apps, Chris Hogg and David Ellis.
Steve Bond, Head of Travel, WKT Travel, comments: “WKT Travel understands the importance of innovation and sustainability in the travel industry. Our business is focused on bringing innovative products to market that are practical and reduce environmental impact in food preparation, on-board food and drink service and in passenger lounges and premium cabins.”
